Automotive & motorsport workshops
Built by a motorsport workshop, for workshops just like it.
AssetForge is independently owned and operated, and was trialled and refined through months of real-world use at CDI Motorsport, a working motorsport workshop, before becoming a product. It is built around how automotive and motorsport workshops actually run: hoists, tools, engines and vehicles that all need an identity, a pre-start and a history that survives staff turnover.

Real tags, real workshop
This is AssetForge running inside CDI Motorsport right now.
These are not mockups. Every tag below is currently stuck to a real piece of equipment at the motorsport workshop where AssetForge has been trialled and refined through months of real-world use.

Built from experience
Why an automotive workshop needed its own system.
Hoists need load checks. Tools go missing between bays. Vehicles need service history that survives staff turnover. Paper and spreadsheets manage none of this well once a workshop grows past a handful of people.
Run a load-check or pre-start on hoists and lifting gear before they're used, with the result attached to that specific piece of equipment — not a shared logbook someone forgot to update.
QR-label diagnostic tools and shared equipment so location, condition and the last check date are one scan away instead of a guess.
Keep service records, faults, photos and documents against each vehicle or project car instead of a folder of loose invoices and old text messages.
Every check, fault and fix is logged under the staff member who did it, so there's an actual record if something is ever questioned later.
How it works day to day
From clock-on to clock-off.
The workflow is designed to be quicker than not doing the check, which is the only way it actually gets used consistently.
Scan the tag
Staff scan the QR tag on the hoist, tool or vehicle to open its record on their own phone.
Run the check
Complete the assigned pre-start or inspection — pass, fail, or flag an issue with a photo attached.
Report a fault
Anything wrong is logged with severity and photos against that exact asset, not relayed verbally and forgotten.
Review from the office
The desktop workspace shows what's overdue, what failed, and what needs attention across the whole workshop.

How the connection works
AssetForge runs on your own computer, not someone else's cloud.
AssetForge is hosted on a computer at your workshop or depot. Staff phones connect to it over the workshop Wi-Fi, or from anywhere through AssetForge's secure remote link. For a fixed workshop this is rarely an issue since the hoists, tools and vehicles aren't going anywhere — but it's worth knowing before you plan around checking something from home or another site.
- Phones scan, check and report on the workshop Wi-Fi or from anywhere via secure remote access
- Remote access runs through a private, encrypted link to your own PC — no public app store listing, no vendor cloud holding your records
- Your data stays off someone else's servers, and remote access stays off until an admin turns it on

Common in workshops
The problems this replaces.
None of these are dramatic on their own. They just quietly cost time, tools and trust.
- A whiteboard or diary tracking hoist services
- Tools that quietly disappear between bays or utes
- Vehicle history split across invoices, texts and memory
- Faults reported verbally and forgotten by the next shift
Questions
Automotive & motorsport FAQ
How workshops like CDI Motorsport actually use AssetForge day to day.
Is AssetForge actually used in a real workshop?
Yes, but AssetForge itself is independently owned and operated — it isn't owned by CDI Motorsport. It has been trialled there through months of real-world use, and the workflows come directly from running equipment, hoists and vehicles in that working automotive and motorsport environment. The photos above are from that same workshop.
Can it track project or race cars, not just workshop equipment?
Yes. Any asset with a QR tag can carry documents, checks, faults and history — that applies equally to a hoist, a diagnostic tool or a vehicle.
Does it replace our existing job/booking software?
No. AssetForge is focused on asset identity, checks, faults and history — it sits alongside booking or invoicing tools rather than replacing them.
Do our hoists and tools need to be near the office computer?
No. On site they can use the workshop Wi-Fi, and with Remote Access switched on they can use a secure link from anywhere — mobile data included.
What if we run more than one workshop location?
One AssetForge install can cover several sites through the secure remote link, with records staying on your own computer rather than a shared vendor cloud.
Can staff check equipment from home or another site?
Yes. Switch on Remote Access in Workspace access and AssetForge gives your workshop a private, encrypted https link. Staff sign in with their normal login from mobile data, another branch or home — no VPN, no router setup, and no app to install.
Which plan should an automotive workshop choose?
Most single-site workshops are well served by AssetForge at $99.99/month — hoists, tools, diagnostic gear and project vehicles all covered, with unlimited staff logins. AssetForge Advanced ($129.99/month) is worth it if you run multiple bays or sites, want customer-facing reports with your own branding, or want the live map showing where loan tools and vehicles are.
Does every mechanic need a paid seat?
No. Both plans include unlimited staff logins, so apprentices, casuals and weekend staff all get their own account and their checks are recorded against them personally. See the cost comparison for how that compares with per-user pricing.
In an automotive workshop
What ends up in the system after a month.
A workshop that tags its gear builds a record without anyone doing paperwork. This is what accumulates from normal work.
Inspection dates, faults, photos of damage and the repair that followed — the evidence an insurer or auditor asks for.
Who took the scan tool, when, and whether it came back. Clock in/out is one tap on the tool's QR tag.
Build notes, manuals, service history and fault reports attached to the car itself rather than a folder on someone's desktop.
Compressors, welders and benches get pre-start checks and service intervals the same as anything else.
A tag on anything that leaves the building, with a record of who had it and where it was last clocked in.
Hours and usage tracked so filter, oil and blade changes happen on schedule instead of after a failure.
